Yes we are. We are accredited by The Accrediting Commission International for Schools, Colleges, and Theological Seminaries. A.C.I. is the largest non-governmental accrediting institution in the United States.

2. What other official connections does the school have?
We are an authorized Certified Academic Institution of the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA), and our Christian Counseling Psychology degrees meet the requirements for NCCA licensure and board certification. We are a member of S.A.V.E. Guidance Association of America, Spiritual - Academic - Vocational - Educational.

3. Does Cornerstone University offer financial aid? Are credit cards accepted for payment?
At this time, Cornerstone does not offer student loans or financial aid. However, we do offer extended payment plans as well as online credit card payments.

4. Do I have to spend any time on campus in Lake Charles, Louisiana?
As a student enrolled in our online courses, on-site campus time in Lake Charles will not be required.

5. Does Cornerstone University and Calvary Theological Seminary have a formal graduation ceremony?
Yes, all students are encouraged and invited to attend the commencement exercises held in Pasadena, Texas. The ceremony will be held on the 1st Saturday in June.

6. Is the NCCA licensure and board certification the same as (or equivalent to) a state’s Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification?
No. NCCA Licensure (LCPC: Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor, or LCCC: Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor) isn’t the same as a state Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).

7. How can I do the required NCCA case studies if I’m not working as a Christian counselor?
You will be assigned a clinical supervisor who will assist you in meeting the NCCA requirements. You will be trained on how to obtain the necessary case studies from your family members, friends, and acquaintances.

8. Am I required to have an undergraduate degree in counseling, Bible, or ministry to enroll in one of the master’s degree programs?
You must have a faith based bachelor’s degree (120 course hours) from an accredited school or college to enroll in a master’s program (transcripts will be evaluated on an individual basis. We will not accept credits for any degree level from an unaccredited school and/or any school that does not meet our criteria). If you do not have an undergraduate degree, we can help you earn one. To enter a Doctoral program at Cornerstone University, you must have a faith based master’s degree (45 course hours) minimum from an accredited school or college.
